Step 1 of 6

Assessment & Application
You apply for a Debt Review by providing us with all the relevant personal information including your essential monthly expenses and creditors list.
You include supporting documentation i.e. ID, payslip and account information, on been assessed as over indebted by the debt counsellor a form 16 (application form) will be signed by you confirming all the above mentioned relevant information received by our Debt Counsellor.

Step 2 of 6

Notification to creditors
Our Debt Counsellor will inform all the creditors listed on your debt review application of your application by submitting a form 17.1
(Notification of a debt review application), within 5 days of the 16 (the application) been signed by you.

Step 3 of 6

Creditors feedback
The Creditors will then verify each account of yours by forwarding a certificate of balance (COB) of any account that you hold to our Debt Counsellor.
Our debt counsellor will use this certificate of balance as a true balance and peruse all details relating to the credit agreement, on satisfaction and collection of all COB'S , our debt counsellor will send a form 17.2 form to the creditor as notification of the debt counsellor's acceptance of the your debt review application.

Step 4 of 6

Restructuring proposal to creditors
With the correct outstanding balances in hand and all other information regarding the consumers account.
I.e. Interest, Date of inception and Arrears, our Debt Counsellor will conduct a Monthly Income Vs Monthly Expenditures analysis to determine the affordability amount available to your creditors, from which a proposal to each creditor can be achieved, the proposal will define the monthly amount proposed to each creditor and the new term (time period) proposed of each creditor and the interest. all subject to your affordability.

Step 5 of 6

Legal protection
Once feedback has been received back from all creditors regarding the proposals, acceptances or counter proposals, our Debt Counsellor will have the Debt review application drawn up by our attorneys for set-down at court to have the proposal turned into a court order.
Binding the agreements made between the you and your creditors. Our debt counsellor will thereafter conduct an annual review with you.

Step 6 of 6 - You are cleared

Issuing of the Clearance certificate:
When all the creditors listed under debt review are paid in full and paid-up letters received, our debt counsellor can issue a clearance certificate to yourself and the NCR, for the removal of your debt review status listed on the consumers credit bureaus report.
In the event of a bond listed on the debt review, a clearance certificate may be issued by a debt counsellor should the bond have no arrears and a letter from the bank obtained, stating that you have reverted to the original bond contract payments with no arrears and has no objection to the lifting of the debt review status of the consumer.
